Chennai, May 16: The Election Commission summoned DMK Chief Karunanidhi to explain the political propaganda and campaign on social media in the 48 hours window. He was asked as to why action should not be taken against him for "violating" the code of conduct.
After the AIADMK IT Wing complained in this regard, Karunanidhi was reprimanded reminding him of the poll conduct. chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni told him telecast/broadcast of all political advertisement in all electronic form should be "stopped 48 hours before the day of close of poll."
Citing the EC guidelines, Lokhani said during the 48 hours window, no person shall convene or address public meetings or processions or propagate an election matter.
