Digvijaya Singh Demands Police Accountability Over Alleged False FIR Against Congress Leader Jitu Patwari

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has raised concerns over the actions of the police in Ashoknagar district. He accused them of filing a false FIR against Jitu Patwari, the MP state unit president. Singh demanded the removal of the Mungaoli police station in-charge, alleging that rules were ignored in this case.

Digvijaya Singh Calls for Police Accountability

The controversy began when Patwari was charged by Mungaoli police last month. The charges were related to an incident involving a youth from the Lodhi community in Moodra Barwah village. The youth had reportedly been fed faeces, and he himself filed the complaint.

Allegations and Police Response

The police dismissed the faeces-feeding claim as false. They accused Patwari of attempting to incite social unrest by sharing a video about the incident on social media. This led to accusations of him trying to stir animosity between castes and disrupt peace.

Singh visited Moodara Badwah village after attending Congress's Nyay Satyagraha in Ashoknagar. During his visit, he discovered that complainants Gajraj Lodhi and Raghuraj Lodhi had been missing for several days. Singh then filed a written complaint about their disappearance at the Mungaoli police station.

Demand for Police Accountability

Singh questioned the police's approach, asking why they did not investigate before filing an FIR against Patwari. He expressed his concerns on X, stating, "Now the police are saying that we will investigate before filing an FIR on this missing case. So our question is, did the police do any investigation before filing an FIR against our state unit president? Obviously, they did not."

He reiterated his demand for immediate action against the Mungaoli police station in-charge for allegedly registering a false case against Patwari. Singh's statements have intensified scrutiny on the local police's handling of these incidents.
