YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Booked After Parody Account Posts Fake News Against Om Birla's Daughter
Maharashtra's cyber police have filed a case against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee for allegedly posting a fake message on his X handle.
The post claimed that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's daughter, Anjali, cleared the UPSC exams without appearing for them.

Rathee faces charges under various sections for defamation, intentional insult, and statements leading to mischief, as well as under the IT Act.
The post from the parody account @dhruvrahtee stated: "India is the only country where you can clear UPSC without sitting in the examination. But for that, you have to be born as a daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Om Birla's daughter Anjali Birla cleared UPSC without giving any examination, she is a model by profession. Modi govt is making a mockery of our education system."
Details of the Allegations
Anjali Birla, aged 23, successfully passed the competitive three-level UPSC exams on her first attempt. Her name also appears on the merit list for the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2019.
The police registered the FIR following a complaint lodged by Anjali's cousin, Naman Maheshwari.
The police have booked Rathee under sections related to defamation and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace. He also faces charges under the IT Act for his alleged actions.
The case has sparked discussions about misinformation and its impact on public figures. The authorities are taking strict measures to address such incidents and maintain public order.
