Development has to be all round, says Narendra Modi in Balasore
Balasore, June 3: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addresed a rally in Balasore and said that 'it is the poor who are dependent on the government and not the rich.'
Addressing the rally, Modi said: "Development has to be all round. No part of the nation should be left out of the development journey. We don't want any state or any region in the country to be devoid of development and change."

Pitching for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, Modi said: "We have initiated Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao movement. See how well girl students are performing in the various examinations."
"I feel the pain for those mothers who do not get proper support and help during giving birth, I want to provide best facilities for them," Modi said.
"Wherever we are in power there is development, we are not in power in Odisha and you can see the plight of the people here, Modi added. "BJP has become synonymous to development," Modi said.
Modi said that eastern India has remained economically backward but his government has focussed its development plan to uproot poverty from the region. "Poverty (in the eastern region) is increasing. People from here go to western states for jobs. Why? You have every resource to be self-sufficient. The god has given you everything," he said.
