Delhi polls: Congress releases manifesto, promises slew of measures

New Delhi, Jan 23: In the run up to Feb 7 Delhi Assembly polls, the Congress on Friday released its poll manifesto. The party has promised to reduce power bills to half, improvement in infrastructure, cleanliness of Yamuna amongst others.

Addressing media persons here, Congress' Delhi unit chief Arvinder Singh Lovely said, "Our manifesto has two parts. Part 1 has come out, Part 2 is being prepared. We promise Delhi that Congress will waive off old water supply bills."

Lovely, accompanied by Ajay Maken, party's election campaign incharge, said, "Congress promises to clean Yamuna river and reduce the electricity bills to half.

Lovely further promised that after coming to power his party will complete all the pending infrastructure projects in national capital. He even claimed that ever since Congress went out of power, Delhi Metro, which has now become Delhi's lifeline, is running late. Lovely promised that after coming to power his party will ensure Metro service starts functioning properly again.

Congress is the first party to have come up with its poll manifesto in run up to elections in the national capital.
