Delhi Police Officers, Including SHO, Arrested for Unauthorised Raid

Four police officers, including the SHO of Laxmi Nagar police station, were arrested for conducting an unauthorised raid in a hotel room in Shakarpur, east Delhi. This information was confirmed by officials on Friday.

Police Officers Arrested for Raid

On May 29, Inspector Prakash Roy and three other officers from Laxmi Nagar police station raided a hotel room in Shakarpur without prior authorisation. This raid raised suspicions, prompting senior officers from the east district to investigate the matter further.

Unlawful Raid and Subsequent Investigation

Based on a secret tip-off, it was discovered that the raid had been conducted without proper authorisation. Senior police officers took sou moto cognizance of the situation and registered a case under sections 420, 388, and 120B of the IPC at Shakarpur police station.

The investigation revealed that during the raid, the Laxmi Nagar police team apprehended a man from Jind, Haryana, who was found with Rs 24 lakh. The man explained to senior officers that he had arranged this money to send his son abroad for studies.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

Following a thorough investigation, the sequence of events was established, leading to the arrest of five individuals. The involvement and culpability of the four police officers were also determined. Consequently, these officers were arrested on June 28 and are set to appear in court on Saturday.

The senior officer stated that the role of each officer was scrutinised during the investigation. The findings led to their arrest due to their participation in the unauthorised raid.

This incident highlights the importance of adhering to proper procedures and obtaining necessary authorisations before conducting any official operations. The arrests serve as a reminder that deviations from protocol will be met with strict consequences.

The case continues to unfold as authorities ensure that justice is served and all responsible parties are held accountable for their actions.
