In yet another shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a 17-year-old boy. The girl, resident of East Delhi's Ghazipur was taken to a madrasa near Ghaziabad. The girl was held captive there for a day before the police rescued her.
It is learnt that the girl went missing since April 21. The girl's father informed the police about her disappearance. The police then scanned the CCTV footage which showed a teenager taking the girl to a home. The police found the girl at a madrasa near Ghaziabad after tracking her phone call detail record.
Meanwhile, a case was registered under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and the boy was sent to a juvenile home.
Police said that they would carry out the ossification test of the teenager to verify his claims of being a minor.
The boy was detained after the girl's medical examination confirmed rape. The police is currently questioning madrasa cleric after the girl's family demanded probe into his alleged involvement in the matter.
On Wednesday, protests took place near Ghazipur and NH24 as a small crowd demanded, "capital punishment for the rape accused".
