Tragic scenes unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district on Wednesday where two children lost their lives while another is battling for his life after reportedly being hit by a convoy of BJP candidate Karan Bhushan Sharan Singh, son of former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Karan Bhushan Singh s Convoy Kills Two

As per the FIR, the complainant, Chanda Begum, provided an account of the incident. She stated that at around 9 am today, her son Rehan and nephew Shahzad were riding a bike to purchase medicine when a speeding SUV traveling from the opposite direction collided with their two-wheeler. Both Rehan and Shahzad lost their lives on the spot due to the impact of the collision. Additionally, a 60-year-old woman also sustained injuries in the accident and has been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment.

As per reports, the convoy was moving towards Huzurpur along Colonelganj-Huzurpur Road, the mishap occurred near Baikunth Degree College.

While the police have refrained from disclosing details regarding Karan Singh's presence in the convoy, it has been revealed that the vehicle responsible for the accident is registered under an entity associated with his family, adding complexity to the case.

Karan Bhushan Singh is a BJP candidate this year from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat. His father, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a six-time MP from the same constituency, made headlines for all the wrong reasons when his name cropped up in sexual harassment case involving women wrestlers. The same allegations are said to be the reason why Brij Bhushan isn't contesting elections this time and his son is being projected as a replacement. Brij Bhushan's elder son Pratik is an MLA from Gonda.
