Congressional staff who criticised Obama's daughters on Facebook resigns
Washington, Dec 2: The congressional staff member who slammed US president Barack Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia Obama on her Facebook page late last week, has resigned, said a NYT report.
Elizabeth Lauten, who was the communications director for Representative Stephen Fincher, Republican of Tennessee, posted critical comments about the Obama daughters after they appeared with their father at the annual turkey pardoning on Wednesday.
In her post, Lauten slammed the girls' dressing saying, "dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar."
"Dear Sasha and Malia, I get you're both in those awful teen years, but you're a part of the First Family, try showing a little class," she wrote.

On Friday, Lauten posted an apology , saying, "After many hours of prayer, talking to my parents, and re-reading my words online, I can see more clearly just how hurtful my words were."
Also, she changed the privacy settings of her Facebook page, making most of the items private.
