Congress Alleges Corruption In MP As Govt School Painting Project Invoves 1 Wall, 4 Litres Paint, 233 People
Congress was quick to attack Madhya Pradesh Government, alleging corruption after a bill of government school project went viral on social media. The bill states costs of painting a wall in Sakandi village was using 4 litres of paint and 168 labourers and 65 masons. The situation has sparked widespread attention due to the peculiar allocation of resources for such a small amount of paint.
Social media users were quick to react when bills from the Byohari Assembly surfaced online. These documents revealed that Rs 1.07 lakh was allegedly spent on applying just four litres of oil paint at the Sakandi school. Additionally, another Rs 2.3 lakh was reportedly used for 20 litres of paint at a different school in Nipaniya village.

Resource Allocation Raises Eyebrows
The painting project in Nipaniya involved an even larger workforce, with 275 labourers and 150 masons tasked with painting just ten windows and four doors. Such an extensive use of manpower for minimal work has raised questions about the efficiency and necessity of these resources.
The real intrigue lies not in the physical work but in the documentation process. Sudhakar Construction, responsible for the work, issued a bill dated May 5, 2025. Interestingly, this bill had already been verified by the principal of Nipaniya school on April 4, a month before its creation.
Questionable Documentation Practices
Adding to the mystery, these bills were approved without any accompanying photographs, which are legally required to show before-and-after conditions. This lack of photographic evidence has further fueled suspicions regarding the legitimacy of the expenses claimed.
District Education Officer Phool Singh Marpachi commented on the situation: "Bills of these two schools are viral on social media. They are being investigated, action will be taken based on the facts that emerge." His statement indicates that authorities are taking these allegations seriously and are committed to uncovering any discrepancies.
The unfolding events have highlighted potential issues within administrative processes and resource management in government projects. As investigations continue, many await clarity on how such unusual circumstances came to be approved and executed without proper oversight.
