Confident Of Victory In Jharkhand, State Can Achieve New Heights Of Development Under BJP: Shivraj
Expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s victory in the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Union Minister and BJP election-in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday stated that the state could reach new heights of development and progress under BJP governance.
Speaking to the media, he remarked, "Jharkhand is a wonderful state. The kind and innocent people here have shown so much affection and love. Jharkhand is rich in resources. There is so much here that the state can truly reach new dimensions of development and progress. I firmly believe that the BJP government will form here. This is a very prosperous land, and I am confident that poverty can be eradicated here. I am grateful to the people of Jharkhand for their love. May Jharkhand rise and flourish under Narendra Modi."

Jharkhand BJP state President Babulal Marandi accused the Hemant Soren-led government of plundering the state over the past five years, reported ANI.
"Hemant Soren has looted Jharkhand for the last five years. There is corruption from top to bottom. People were disheartened by this. Law and order has collapsed, no development work has been done, and Bangladeshi Rohingya Muslims are infiltrating and being granted citizenship here. Properties are being created in the name of Rohingyas, causing public anger," Marandi claimed.
Earlier on Thursday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan met with BJP leaders and workers as the voting for the Jharkhand Assembly elections concluded.
The elections were held in two phases for the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand. According to three exit polls, Jharkhand is expected to see a change in government, with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) potentially coming to power, while one poll suggests the ruling JMM-led alliance will retain its majority. The Chanakya Strategies exit poll predicted that the BJP-led NDA may win 45-50 seats, while the JMM-led alliance could secure 35-38 seats, with others winning 3-5 seats. The Peoples Pulse exit poll forecasted the NDA might win 44-53 seats, the JMM-led alliance 25-37 seats, and others 5-9 seats.
Polling for the second phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections concluded on Wednesday, covering 38 constituencies across 12 districts, with an approximate voter turnout of 67.59% until 5 pm.
The first phase of the elections took place on November 13 across 43 of the 81 assembly seats. Results for all 81 constituencies will be announced on November 23, alongside the results for the Maharashtra Assembly elections and bypolls in several states.
