Jammu: Civilian injured in Pakistan shelling dies

A senior police officer said, "Ramesh Chander of Arnia town (Jammu district) who had sustained injuries during Pakistan shelling on October 6 and had been admitted for treatment to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in the city succumbed to injuries during the night".
With this, the number of people killed in Pakistan shelling on the international border and the line of control (LoC) since Oct 6 reached nine while 61 others have been injured.
Over 30,000 residents of border villages are still living in relief camps in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir after being forced to abandon homes because of unprecedented peace-time targeting of civilian habitations by Pakistan that started Oct 6 on Eid-Ul-Azha festival.
