Chirag Paswan Backs Govt on NEET, Critiques Opposition's Parliament Strategy
Union minister Chirag Paswan stated on Saturday that the government is in communication with all stakeholders regarding the NEET paper leak case. He assured that a decision favouring students will be made at the right time. Speaking to reporters, he criticised the opposition for disrupting Parliament over the issue, calling it a "flawed mindset."

Paswan mentioned that the NEET case is under investigation by relevant agencies and is also being reviewed by a court. He emphasised that discussions with stakeholders are ongoing and a suitable decision will be made when appropriate. "An appropriate decision will be taken at an appropriate time, in the best interests of students," Paswan said.
Opposition Criticism
Responding to questions about the previous day's parliamentary disruptions caused by opposition protests, Paswan remarked, "The opposition is displaying a flawed mindset. If it wants to raise issues concerning the public, it must allow the House to run properly and take part in debates and discussions." The opposition's actions led to multiple adjournments in Parliament.
Paswan was on his first visit to Bihar since joining the Union cabinet earlier this month. During his visit, he addressed concerns about the recent increase in crime in Bihar. When asked about this, he acknowledged that while the situation might be worrying, he believed the state government is capable of handling it.
NDA Leadership and Upcoming Elections
Regarding the upcoming state assembly elections next year, Paswan confirmed that NDA ally Nitish Kumar, who is also the Chief Minister and heads the JDU, will lead the coalition. This statement came in response to queries about leadership within the NDA for the forthcoming polls.
Paswan also attended a function where newly elected MPs from his party were honoured. The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) won all five seats it contested. He expressed happiness that unlike Uttar Pradesh, people in Bihar were not misled by opposition claims that the NDA intended to abolish reservations and scrap the Constitution.
Future Plans for LJP
Paswan announced plans for a rally at Gandhi Maidan in November to commemorate the foundation of Lok Janshakti Party, established by his late father Ram Vilas Paswan. This event aims to celebrate the party's achievements and its continued commitment to its founding principles.
In conclusion, Paswan reiterated his commitment to addressing student concerns regarding NEET and criticised opposition tactics in Parliament. He also highlighted his party's plans and future political strategies in Bihar.
