Subhash Barala confirmed that Vikas has left for Chandigarh to join the probe and assured that his son will fully cooperate with the investigation.

"Vikas has left for Chandigarh to join the probe, he will fully cooperate...We respect the law, Vikas has cooperated in the probe earlier as well," he told news agency ANI.

Chandigarh DGP Tejinder Luthra earlier said Vikas Barala refused to accept the notice because of which it had to be pasted on the wall of his residence.

"Accused refused to give their blood and urine samples. Such refusal will be held against them in the investigation and trial," he told media.

"Everything under the sun will be done to ensure justice," he added.

Varnika Kundu, daughter of Haryana Additional Chief Secretary VS Kundu, had on Friday alleged that Vikas and and his friend Ashish stalked her.'

Speaking to the media, Subhash Barala had on Tuesday said there was no pressure to influence the probe in the stalking case, adding, "Varnika is like my daughter".

The Chandigarh police on Monday claimed that there were no CCTV footage of Subhash Barala's son stalking the daughter of a senior IAS officer. Then later, the footage was retrieved late Monday night after the police had faced criticism for saying that the CCTVs along the route of the incident were not working.

However, the probe has not taken off as the footage that was retrieved was of poor quality. The police are finding it hard to ascertain whether an attempt to kidnap was made as was alleged by Varnika.

What has further weakened the case is the failure of the police to obtain a medical examination of the accused two hours prior to the FIR being registered.

Vikas and Ashish were arrested from the Housing Board light point late on Friday night. Varnika, a disc jockey, who was driving from Sector 7, Chandigarh, towards Panchkula at 12.35am, alleged the two men followed her in their SUV.
