Cannot curb hate speeches, its a fundamental right: SC

on Monday dismissed a PIL by ML Sharma seeking intervention by the court in directing the Election Commission to curb hate speeches.

Dismissing the plea, the Apex court said that it could not curb the fundamental right of the people to express themselves.

With the Lok Sabha elections knocking at the door and politicians taking rounds of the country convincing people of their party's abilities, hate speech has become a common thing.
