PM Chairs 'Fruitful' Meeting of Council of Ministers, Tells Them to Inform People About Work Done in 9 Years
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on Monday amid a heightened buzz about the likelihood of a Cabinet reshuffle following a series of meetings of the ruling BJP's top brass. The meeting took place at the newly constructed convention centre in Pragati Maidan, Delhi.
''A fruitful meeting with the Council of Ministers, where we exchanged views on diverse policy related issues,'' Modi tweeted.

In the Council of Ministers meeting, some ministries generally give a presentation about their work, with the prime minister sharing his views. The meeting has come amid a heightened buzz about a likely Cabinet reshuffle following a series of meetings of the ruling BJP's top brass.
According to news agency PTI, a presentation was also made in the meeting on India's likely growth journey in a host of areas, ranging from infrastructure to budget size, till 2047 when it celebrates the centenary of its independence.
This will put India among the leading countries in the world, they said. Modi has described the era till 2047 as ''Amrit Kaal'' (golden era) for the country.
The sources said the prime minister noted the global challenges and lauded the country's development.
A number of secretaries representing different ministries, including foreign and defence, spoke during the meeting in which Modi's recent state visit to the US was also highlighted for its unprecedent success, with the prime minister holding talks with President Joe Biden on all three days of his stay in Washington DC, the sources said.
His visit to Egypt was also highlighted in the meeting which last for close to four and a half hours.
It was also discussed how to properly implement budgetary allocations, the sources said, noting that Modi underscored that the G20 meeting will be held at Pragati Maidan Convention Centre.
Prior to this, senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Chief JP Nadda, and National General Secretary BL Santhosh, gathered for a meeting at the Prime Minister's residence in New Delhi on Wednesday night (June 28).
According to reports, discussions centered around the Cabinet reshuffle and the party's strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. As part of preparations for the upcoming elections, it is expected that three General Secretaries and four Secretaries will be inducted into the BJP's national organisation.
Rports also revealed that the Prime Minister has been briefed on the party's changes in light of the critical elections. It is speculated that four BJP leaders from Uttar Pradesh, one from the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, two from Rajasthan (where assembly elections are scheduled this year), and two from Maharashtra are likely to be included in the Modi Cabinet.
In addition to the national organizational reshuffle, the ruling party may introduce significant changes in the state units of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. After experiencing a significant defeat in Karnataka, the BJP is determined to leave no room for chance, especially as it faces a tough competition from the Congress in Madhya Pradesh.
The BJP currently holds power in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress, led by Kamal Nath, is aiming to reclaim it. In Rajasthan, the BJP is strategizing to overcome the divided Congress. However, reports suggest that the BJP in Rajasthan is also grappling with a leadership crisis ahead of the assembly elections.
