Boy Dies Following Alleged Wrong Injection at Odisha Community Health Centre

A 16-year-old boy from Rautara village in Odisha's Jajpur district passed away on Wednesday. His family claims the cause was a wrong injection given at a government-run community health centre. The boy, Satyanarayan Mallik, was taken to the Binjharpur health centre after falling ill on Tuesday.

After being examined, the attending doctor prescribed two injections. These were administered by the nursing staff. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated soon after, and despite medical efforts, he died early Wednesday morning. This incident led to protests by the boy's family at the hospital.

Family Demands Justice

The grieving family accused the medical staff of negligence, alleging that a wrong injection caused the boy's death. They demanded accountability and justice for their loss. The police intervened to manage the situation and maintain order at the hospital premises.

A complaint was lodged by Satyanarayan's father, prompting the police to register a case. The authorities have sent the boy's body for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. "We are waiting for the postmortem report. Actual cause of the death will be ascertained after receipt of the report," stated a senior police official.
