BJP Will Form Next Govt In Maharashtra, Jharkhand: Arjun Ram Meghwal
As the anticipation builds for the assembly polls' results in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, set for announcement tomorrow, key political figures have voiced their confidence in the success of the BJP-led alliances in both states.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, following his visits to the states, expressed optimism about the BJP's performance and the formation of governments in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Similarly, JD(U) leader KC Tyagi highlighted the positive impact of Maharashtra's 'Ladli Behen' scheme, expressing hope for the NDA alliance's victory in the state's assembly elections.
The BJP, allied with Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction, Ajit Pawar's wing of the Nationalist Congress Party, faces a formidable challenge from the Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) coalition, consisting of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the NCP (SCP), in Maharashtra. The state's political battleground requires a majority of 145 seats out of 288 to form the government.

Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, with an 81-seat assembly, the BJP aims to oust the incumbent JMM party. The party has formed alliances with the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) to strengthen its bid against the JMM-led coalition, including the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist).
Political Strategists and Leaders Weigh In
BJP's National General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticized opposition parties, particularly the Congress, for their complaints about EVMs following electoral defeats. Chugh pointed out the inconsistency in the opposition's stance, noting that EVMs were not questioned when victories were in favor of the Congress in states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. He confidently stated, "They blame EVMs for their defeat. But, when they won the elections in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana, the EVMs were correct." Chugh's comments underscore the BJP's dismissal of EVM-related allegations, emphasizing the electorate's support for their governance.
Chugh further anticipated a significant triumph for the BJP, suggesting that the electorate's favor would be evident in the results, mirroring past rejections of the Congress in regions like Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. He envisioned a similar outcome for the Congress-led alliances in the upcoming Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, attributing the expected success to the party's work towards benefiting the poor, women, and youth under PM Modi's leadership.
