BJP vs AAP Over Ghazipur Landfill Fire; Kapil Mishra Says Fire 'Poisonous As Kejriwal’s Lies'

The fire at the Ghazipur landfill has now sparked a political blame game between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra slammed AAP ruling Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) stating the fire is as "poisonous as Kejriwal's lies".

Taking it to social media, Kapil Mishra, who was once elected on AAP's ticket and later switched to BJP, said, "A huge fire has broken out at Delhi's Ghazipur landfill. Toxic smoke is floating in the air. Fraud Arvind Kejriwal fought the MCD elections by showing a photo of this Ghazipur landfill. This smoke is as endless and poisonous as Kejriwal's lies."

BJP vs AAP Over Gazipur Landfill Fire

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva slammed the AAP government saying, "AAP and Arvind Kejriwal had announced that they would remove this landfill by December 2023. The cause of the fire should be investigated...The causes are natural, there is corruption behind this. It should be investigated and action should be taken against the guilty. AAP chief and the party are on dialysis."

The state unit also shared a video of a fire at the Gazipur landfill along with a caption: "This horrifying clip of the fire in the Ghazipur landfill is heart-wrenching." The saffron party questioned, "who will you (AAP) hold responsible for this massive fire?"

Replying to all the allegations, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said "All the MCD officials are working on it. The Fire Department has also been working. The fire will be brought under control soon."

People living near the site reportedly complained about throat irritation and breathing problems.

A local told ANI, "We are facing difficulties in breathing due to the smoke caused by the fire. We are unable to talk due to pollution...The fire has been continuing since yesterday morning. The administration has not done anything...We want the government to solve the issue."

According to the reports, the massive fire at the landfill erupted due to harsh hot weather conditions in the national capital region.
