BJP Halts Delhi's Development by Targeting AAP Leaders, Sisodia Says
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia visited Sultanpur Majra constituency on Wednesday as part of his Padyatra campaign. During his visit, a group protested by showing black flags and raising slogans. The Delhi BJP media department claimed that the protesters were party workers opposing Sisodia's visit due to his involvement in the excise policy case.

Sisodia, recently granted bail after 17 months in jail for the excise policy case, interacted with locals and criticised the BJP. He accused the BJP of jailing him and other leaders, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, to hinder Delhi's progress. "They did not put us in jail because we had done something wrong, but because Kejriwal was working," he said.
Accusations Against BJP
Sisodia alleged that the BJP is obstructing Delhi's development by imprisoning AAP leaders on false charges. He reassured residents that Chief Minister Kejriwal would soon return to continue the city's development efforts. "Kejriwal developed wonderful schools and hospitals, provided free bus travel to women, and free electricity," he added.
He questioned the accusations against Kejriwal, stating, "What was Arvind Kejriwal's fault? If he had to do corruption, then why would he make the electricity bills zero?" Sisodia emphasised that higher bills would have been more beneficial for corruption if that were their intent.
Padyatra Campaign Details
The Padyatra campaign was launched by Sisodia on August 16. As part of this campaign ahead of next year's Delhi Assembly polls, Sisodia plans to visit all 70 constituencies to engage with the public. During his interactions, he highlighted people's appreciation for zero electricity bills, Mohalla Clinics, free bus travel, and improved schools.
However, Sisodia also noted that residents have reported issues with sewer and drinking water over the past year. He attributed these problems to a conspiracy by the BJP to imprison Chief Minister Kejriwal. "If Kejriwal was here, he would have fought and got your water and sewer problems solved," he asserted.
All three leaders—Kejriwal, Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh—were arrested in connection with excise policy cases. While Singh and Sisodia have been granted bail, Kejriwal remains under judicial custody. Sisodia assured locals that efforts to resolve their issues would continue once Kejriwal is back.
Sisodia's visit to Sultanpur Majra was marked by both support and opposition. Despite the protests, he remained focused on addressing local concerns and criticising the BJP's actions against AAP leaders. His campaign aims to strengthen public support ahead of the upcoming elections.
