BJP Compares Congress Leaders to Ravana for Skipping Ram Temple Event
The BJP criticized Congress leaders for declining invitations to the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, accusing them of lacking devotion and comparing their actions to Ravanas downfall.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for declining the invitation to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli expressed surprise and disappointment over the Congress's decision, stating that the party has consistently opposed the construction of the Ram temple and even filed an affidavit in court denying the existence of Lord Ram.
BJP Accuses Congress of Disrespecting Lord Ram
Kohli accused the Congress of disrespecting Lord Ram and said that their decision not to attend the consecration ceremony is a reflection of their true beliefs. He pointed out that the Congress-led UPA government had filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court denying the existence of Lord Ram and had never wanted an early hearing on the issue. Kohli asserted that the Congress's allegation that the event is being politicized by the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is merely an excuse to hide their own opposition to the Ram temple.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari Compares Congress Leaders to Ravana
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari joined in the criticism of the Congress leaders, expressing surprise that the Ram temple trust had extended invitations to those who never wanted the temple to be built and even filed an affidavit calling Lord Ram an imaginary figure. Tiwari drew a parallel between the Congress leaders and Ravana, the demon king from the Treta Yug, who was known for his arrogance and opposition to Lord Ram. Tiwari stated that the Treta Yug, a period of righteousness and prosperity, has begun in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and those who do not attend the consecration ceremony will regret their decision.
BJP Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill Accuses Opposition of Conspiracy
BJP spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill alleged that the opposition's decision to decline the invitation is not a coincidence but a well-thought-out plan to hurt the beliefs of Indians. Shergill pointed to recent statements by leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) that were seen as disrespectful to Hindu beliefs. He prayed to Lord Ram to eliminate the politics of hatred practiced by the opposition alliance and urged Indians to never forgive the Congress for their actions.
The BJP's strong reaction to the Congress leaders' decision not to attend the Ram temple consecration ceremony reflects the deep political and ideological divide in India over issues related to religion and cultural heritage. The Ram temple issue has been a contentious one for decades, and the BJP's efforts to build the temple have been seen as a fulfillment of a long-standing promise to its supporters. The Congress's opposition to the temple and its decision to decline the invitation to the consecration ceremony have further escalated tensions between the two parties and highlighted the ongoing struggle for political dominance in India.
