BJP Releases Manifesto For Jharkhand Election: '2 LPG Cylinders For Women, Rs 2100 Every Month'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party's manifesto for the Jharkhand Assembly Elections on Sunday, promising to provide Rs 2,100 per month to every woman in the state should the BJP return to power.

The manifesto's key pledges include providing LPG cylinders at Rs 500 for all households, with two free cylinders per year.

The party has also pledged to reclaim tribal land occupied by infiltrators and return it to the tribal communities.

The manifesto also states that children of infiltrators who marry into tribal families will not receive tribal status. It also ensures that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will exclude tribal communities. In a move to reassure students, the BJP has promised to act against those responsible for recent paper leaks in the state.

Furthermore, the manifesto outlines plans to create five lakh self-employment opportunities for young people over five years.

BJP also aims to fill 2,87,500 government positions with transparency, intending to start the recruitment process in the first cabinet meeting and complete the recruitment for 1.5 lakh posts by November 2025. The manifesto also includes a commitment to publish an annual examination calendar.

At the manifesto launch in Ranchi, Amit Shah criticised the Hemant Soren-led government for failing to protect tribal communities from infiltrators, asserting that the BJP would put a stop to the influx of Bangladeshis.

Shah stated, "During Hemant Soren's government, the tribals of Jharkhand are not safe. The number of tribals in Santhal Pargana is continuously decreasing. Infiltrators are coming here and luring our daughters and marrying them and occupying the land. If this is not stopped, then neither the culture of Jharkhand, nor the employment, land, or daughters here will be safe. That is why the BJP is moving ahead with the slogan of securing 'Roti, Beti, Maati'."

Shah also took aim at what he described as the Jharkhand government's "appeasement" policies.

He added, "In Lohardaga, Kanwariyas were attacked, Kirtan and Bhajans were banned in Ramnavami, stones were pelted during the Ramnavami procession, temples were damaged in Sahibganj, and slogans of 'Hindu Jharkhand Chodo' were raised in Jamshedpur. You should be ashamed. There will be such a rule of law here in which those who do such acts will be sent behind bars through the law, no one will dare to do such things..."

The Home Minister confirmed that the UCC would be implemented in Jharkhand but assured that tribal communities would be exempted from it.

Outlining further promises in the manifesto, Shah announced, "Under the 'Gogo Didi scheme', women will be given Rs 2100 every month. Free LPG gas cylinders will be given on Diwali and Rakshabandhan and the cylinders will be given for Rs 500. Five lakh employment opportunities will be created for the youth of Jharkhand."

Taking a firm stance on paper leaks, Shah warned that a BJP government would deal harshly with those responsible, remarking, "The paper leak mafia has ruined the future of the youth. Form a BJP government and we will hang the paper mafia upside down... A BJP government was formed in Assam and today infiltration has stopped in Assam."

The Jharkhand Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases, on November 13 and 20, with vote counting set for November 23, coinciding with Maharashtra's single-phase vote on November 20.
