BJPs New Faces: 33 Sitting MPs Replaced in First List of Lok Sabha Candidates

The BJP has unveiled its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, introducing significant changes with the replacement of 33 sitting MPs. Among the notable developments, the party has announced candidates for 11 Lok Sabha seats in Assam and Chhattisgarh, featuring a mix of experienced and fresh faces.

On Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, introducing a significant number of new faces while replacing several sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).

BJPs Bold Move: Revamping Lok Sabha Candidates with 33 New Faces

Assam:

In Assam, the BJP announced its candidates for 11 Lok Sabha seats, including six sitting MPs and five new faces. Parimal Suklabaidhya will contest from the Silchar constituency, which was previously held by Rajdeep Roy. Amar Singh Tisso will represent the Autonomous District ST seat, currently held by BBJP MP Horen Singh Bey. Bijuli Kalita Medhi will contest from Gauhati, replacing Queen Oja, while Ranjit Dutta will vie for the Tezpur seat, previously won by Pallab Lochan Das.

Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal will be the BJP's candidate from Dibrugarh, replacing sitting MP Rameswar Teli.

Chhattisgarh:

The BJP's list of candidates for Chhattisgarh includes four new faces among the 11 seats. Kamlesh Jangde will contest from Janjgir Champa SC constituency, replacing Guharam Ajgalley. Senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal will enter the fray from Raipur, taking the place of Sunil Kumar Soni. Roop Kumari Choudhary will represent the Mahasamund seat, replacing Chunni Lal Sahu, while Bhojraj Nag will contest from the Kanker ST seat, replacing Mohan Mandavi.

Delhi:

In Delhi, the BJP named candidates for five Lok Sabha seats, four of whom will replace sitting MPs. Praveen Khandelwal will contest from Chandani Chowk, replacing two-term MP and former Union Minister Harsh Vardhan. Kamaljeet Sehrawat will replace Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in the West Delhi seat. Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, will be the party's candidate from New Delhi, currently held by Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri will contest from South Delhi, replacing Ramesh Bidhuri.

Gujarat:

The BJP announced its candidates for 15 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, dropping five sitting MPs. Rekhaben Hiteshbhai Choudhary will contest from Banaskantha, replacing Prabhatbhai Savabhai Patel. Dineshbhai Kidarbhai Makwana will replace three-term MP Kirit Solanki in the Ahmedabad West SC seat. Union Minister Parshottam Rupala will be the BJP's candidate from Rajkot, replacing Mohanbhai Kalyanji Kundariya. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will contest from Porbandar, currently held by Rameshbhai Lavjibhai Dhaduk. Rajpalsinh Mahendrasinh Jadhav will join the fray from Panchmahal, replacing Ratansinh Magansinh Rathod.

Jharkhand:

In Jharkhand, the BJP fielded Manish Jaiswal from the Hazaribagh seat, currently held by Jayant Sinha, son of former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha. Samir Oraon will replace three-time MP Sudarshan Bhagat in the Lohardaga ST seat.

Madhya Pradesh:

The BJP's list of candidates for Madhya Pradesh includes seven new faces, replacing sitting MPs. Bharat Singh Kushwaha will contest from Gwalior, replacing Vivek Narayan Shejwalker. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will be the party's candidate from Guna, replacing Krishnapal Singh Yadav. Lata Wankhede will join the fray from Sagar, currently held by Rajbahadur Singh. Virendra Khatik will contest from Tikamgarh SC seat. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be the BJP's candidate from Vidisha, replacing Ramakant Bhargava. Alok Sharma will contest from Bhopal, currently held by Sadhvi Pragya Singh. Anita Nagar Singh Chauhan will represent the Ratlam ST seat, replacing BJP MP Guman Singh Damor.

Rajasthan:

The BJP announced its candidates for 15 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan, replacing five sitting MPs with new faces. The party will introduce new candidates in Churu, Bharatpur, Jalore, Udaipur, and Banswara constituencies.

Tripura and West Bengal:

The BJP named former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb as its candidate from Tripura West, currently held by Pratima Bhoumik. In West Bengal, Manoj Tigga will contest from the Alipurduar constituency, reserved for Scheduled Tribe, replacing John Barla.
