Chhattisgarh CM Leads BJP to Enrol 50 Lakh Members in Ambitious Drive
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasised the importance of the BJP's membership drive, urging party workers to aim for enrolling over 50 lakh members in the state. This initiative, he noted, is a chance to fortify both the organisation and the nation. The BJP launched its nationwide membership drive in New Delhi on Monday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance.

The membership drive for Chhattisgarh began at Raipur's Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium. CM Sai was the first to renew his membership, enrolled by state president Kiran Deo. During the event, Sai also released an online link for party membership enrolment. He highlighted that the "sadasyata abhiyan" is a valuable opportunity to strengthen the BJP and urged party workers to dedicate their efforts towards achieving the membership target.
Foundation and Principles
Sai recalled the foundation of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh, the BJP's predecessor, which was based on the principle that "Ek Desh Mein do Nishan, do Vidhan Aur do Pradhan Nahi Chalenge" (There cannot be two flags, two Constitutions, and two Prime Ministers in one nation). Following these ideals, the BJP was established in 1980 with a commitment to putting the nation first. Sai asserted that this dedication has helped the BJP become the world's largest party, committed to safeguarding national interests.
Achievements Under Modi's Leadership
Sai praised Prime Minister Modi's leadership, stating that his achievements have given India a new identity. By fulfilling Modi's promises, his government has earned the trust of the people. On this occasion, former Governor Ramesh Bais and senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal were among thousands who enrolled as members of the party.
Veteran tribal leader Nand Kumar Sai also rejoined the BJP during this event. He had left the party last year to join Congress, citing conspiracies against him by party leaders. Sharing his enrolment picture on social media, Nand Kumar Sai expressed pride in being part of India's largest party once again.
Nand Kumar Sai has had a distinguished political career, serving as a three-time Lok Sabha MP and three-term MLA. He also held the position of BJP state president for both Chhattisgarh and undivided Madhya Pradesh. His return to BJP marks a significant moment for the party in Chhattisgarh.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from thousands of party workers who renewed their memberships or joined anew. This drive aims to bolster the party's strength and presence in Chhattisgarh ahead of upcoming elections.
The Chief Minister's call to action underscores the importance of unity and dedication among party members. By working together towards common goals, they can ensure continued growth and success for both the BJP and India.
The membership drive is not just about numbers but about reinforcing commitment to national values and principles. It reflects a collective effort to build a stronger political foundation for future challenges.
The concluding remarks by CM Sai encapsulate the essence of this initiative: a unified effort to strengthen both party and nation through dedicated membership and active participation.
