The goat was accused of trespassing into a senior bureaucrat's garden. District magistrate Hemant Ratre's gardener filed the legal complaint against the goat and its owner, Abdul Hassan.

Following the complaint, police first arrested the goat and later summoned Hassan to the police station. The goat along with its owner was produced before the court on Tuesday, Feb 9. The court, however, granted bail to the "repeat offender" goat.

While booking the goat under such serious charges, police officers were quoted as saying, "The judge's bungalow has an iron gate and the goat used to jump over it and enter."

"The peon, who maintains the garden, had warned the owner of the goat many times. So today he filed a complaint and we arrested the goat and its owner," the policemen added.

Not only trespassing into the garden, the goat was also accused of grazing in the garden and eating plants and vegetables.
