Bihar Political Crisis: Here's Lalu Yadav's New Tactic To Beat Nitish Kumar, If He Joins Hands With BJP
Soon after speculations surfaced that Nitish Kumar may switch sides and join hands with the BJP, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) called its lawmakers to Patna for an urgent and high-level meeting. According to the reports, RJD is likely to write the Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar to take its support back from the Nitish Kumar government. If this happened, then Lalu Yadav's party is likely to get the first chance to form the new government in Bihar as it is the single-largest party with 79 seats.
RJD is followed by BJP with 78 seats, while JDU has only 45, but crucial seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM won 4 seats. Congress had bagged 19 seats, CPI(ML) won 12 seats, and CPI and CPM won 2 seats each. One Independent candidate and one member of AIMIM emerged as winners during the 2020 Vidhan Sabha elections.

Reports said that RJD is trying to lure Hindustan Avam Morcha's (HAM) Jitan Ram Manjhi with an offer of Deputy Chief Minister.
According to the reports, the rift between RJD and JDU's joint government was sparked over large-scale transfers of district magistrates and top state officers. The reports added that 22 IAS, 79 IPS, 45 Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) officers, 5 district magistrates (DMs) and 17 SPs were likely to be transferred.
Leaders from the JDU camp said that CM Nitish Kumar was extremely happy with the Narendra Modi government's decision to give the Bharat Ratna Award to former Chief Minister and socialist leader Karpoori Thakur.
Reacting to the big political crisis, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav said Nitish Kumar was the one who brought all opposition together. He's also one of the top runners for the Prime Ministerial post from the Opposition's camp.
While Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the INDIA bloc has "no knowledge of JD(U) departing from the alliance."
