Bharat Bandh: Normal life affected in several states

Bhopal, Sep 6: A 'Bharat bandh' has been called by some organisations to protest against the SC/ST Amendment Act following which security has been beefed up across the country. High alert has been issued in 35 districts across the state in view of Bharat Bandh against amendments in SC/ST Act.

High alert issued in Bhopal. Around 34 distrcits in Bhopal are on high alert ahead of the bandh. Section 144 CrPc have been imposed in sevral distrcits and 34 units of security forces and 5000 security personnel have been deployed in the state.

Section one 144 was imposed late Wednesday night in Sawai Madhopur city. Special DG (Law and Order) N R K Reddy said that meetings were held with all SPs on Wednesday. “We are keeping a tab over cities which had witnessed some tension during April 2 and later dates, additional forces have been despatched to Sikar, Alwar, Karauli, Gangapur City,” he said.
