Tragedy Strikes Amidst Festivities

Baran Festival Tragedy

A 26-year-old man named Lucky Soni was participating in the Dool procession, part of Jaljhulani Ekadashi festivities at one of the akhadas in Baran city. He was performing stunts with sticks when he suddenly collapsed unconscious Tuesday evening. Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival, according to Circle Inspector Rajesh Khatana.

Quick-Thinking Officer Saves Another Life

In a similar incident at the same procession, another 25-year-old participant fainted mid-performance. This time however, tragedy was averted thanks to swift action taken by Deputy Superintendent of Police for Baran city, Rajendra Kumar Meena who happened to be present at the spot. The young man had injured his mouth during his fall and was bleeding profusely when DSP Meena stepped in.

Showing remarkable presence of mind and training in emergency response techniques like Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), DSP Meena administered CPR on the unconscious victim for five straight minutes until he revived him back to consciousness.

Praise for Heroic Actions

The heroic act did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Additional Director General (ADG)of Police for Crime Branch Dinesh MN took special notice and lauded DSP Meena's quick thinking and bravery on social media platform X. In his post, the ADG wrote: "RPS officer Rajendra Kumar Meena saved the life of a young man who got heart attack by giving CPR in Baran district. Kudos to the presence of mind of the officer and his heroism."

The incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly joyous occasions can turn tragic without warning. It also highlights the importance of quick medical intervention during emergencies and having trained personnel on site at public gatherings. The swift actions taken by DSP Meena undoubtedly saved a life that day, demonstrating not only his professional training but also his personal commitment to serve and protect.

In conclusion, while one family grieves for their lost loved one, another thanks their stars for having had a guardian angel in uniform present at just the right moment. This incident underscores not only the unpredictability of life but also reinforces faith in humanity through acts of selfless service.
