Bappi Lahiri strikes 'cord' with BJP, joins ahead of LS polls

Mumbai, Jan 31: Famous music director of the Indian Film Industry, Bappi Lahiri, has joined

today, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls this year.

He is said to have met the BJP President Rajnath Singh in the evening at BJP's Delhi headquarters. However, it is unclear whether he will be contesting the polls from Kolkata or Mumbai or he will just be campaigning for the party across the world.

According to the BJP sources, the party is planning to loop in as many popular names as popular, akin to what they did way back in 2004. Nevertheless, they hope that the results would not be similar. Despite popular faces in 2004, the prty lost at the Centre.

Bappi Lahiri is born and brought up in Kkolkata, but is settled in Mumbai for the last 40 years; add to this his popularity as a musician. Let's see if he brings 'Gold' to BJP this Lok Sabha elections.
