Bank Holidays 2025: Three-Day Bank Closure from April 29 to May 1
Bank branches across India will remain closed for three consecutive days from April 29 to May 1, 2025. However, these holidays will vary by state, depending on the holidays listed under the RBI's negotiable instruments act. The public holidays include Parshuram Jayanti, Akshaya Tritiya, and Maharashtra Day. While some states will observe these holidays, others will continue regular operations.
April 29 - Parshuram Jayanti On April 29, Bhagvan Shri Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated, with banks in Shimla closed for the occasion. However, there will be no public holiday in other regions.

April 30 - Akshaya Tritiya Akshaya Tritiya, a significant day for purchasing gold and jewelry, falls on April 30. Banks in Bengaluru will remain closed in observance of this festival.
May 1 - Labour Day Labour Day on May 1 will see closures in multiple cities, including Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram. Additionally, the stock markets, BSE and NSE in Mumbai, will be closed in observance of Maharashtra Day.
