Baliga files: Hidden files reveal, booth worker of BJP hunting ‘NaMo’ Naresh

Mangaluru, July 12: It is a prevailing perception that Baliga's fight against temple administration led him loose his life. However many have wondered how Naresh Shenoy's name has surfaced in the alleged murder of BJP's booth level worker.

There could be a reason. A few predict, BJP's booth level worker Baliga might have been battling against Naresh to put him behind bars and this could be the key reason for Naresh's alleged involvement in the case.

Baliga might have had a document that was nailing! This could have had exposed Naresh Shenoy before the public. Naresh had political aspirations and he was a MLA aspirant from Mangaluru South constituency of Dakshina Kannada district for the upcoming 2018 assembly elections.

A tiny expose would have cost Shenoy his political fortunes. Baliga stroke at the right time. Baliga along with finding corruption marring the Venkataramana temple, might have figured Naresh Shenoy clandestinely involving in temple's financial handlings.

What court documets say

Furthering this, Baliga dwelled into Naresh availing RTI as a tool. By procuring a document, Baliga found Naresh Shenoy standing surety for Rs 50,000 personal bond for the acquittal of the accused in a murder crime occurred in December 2012 at the premises of popular Venkataramana Temple at Carstreet.

A document of II Additional District and Sessions Court of Mangaluru dated January 8, 2014 procured by Baliga, hidden in the 'Baliga files' now reveal Naresh Shenoy gave surety for the acquittal of accused Nandakumar Prabhu who was charged with IPC 302, 201 in the murder of Mahesh Prabhu. The murder took place in the year 2013 at the temple.

The order of the court said: "Accused who is in judicial custody is set at liberty forthwith if he not required in any other case. The accused shall execute personal for Rs 50,000 with one surety for like sum for a period of six months.

For order of this court, advocate of the accused, Nandakumar Prabhu, filed an affidavit of Naresh Shenoy. The II Additional judge pursuing the further course said in the order that "the said surety is present and he (Naresh Shenoy) is ready to offer himself as surety to accused."

The order further read: "Pursued the affidavit, and documents. Satisfied. The office is directed to take necessary bonds for Rs 50,000 for a period of 6 months. Issue this information to jail authorities."

This document which was procured by Vinayak Baliga is his pursuance of fight against corruption-ridden Venkataramana Temple. While it is clear that offering surety for the acquittal is no wrong, what connection Naresh had with the killing of Mahesh Prabhu. And what made Shenoy to stand surety.

Perhaps, Baliga might had some clues over this. And Baliga procuring this document proves this. However pursuing this issue will certainly unravel the further mystery over Naresh's interests in offering surety.

Who is Nandakumar Prabhu and Mahesh Prabhu?

According to sources Nandakumar Prabhu is a man who works with present pontiff of Kashi Math, Samayameandra. While Mahesh was associate of erstwhile seer of the Math, Sudhindra. On the day of the murder in December 2012, both Nandakumar and Prabhu had altercation leading to the alleged crime scene at Venkataramana temple, say sources privy to this incident.

Naresh backs Nandakumar

While it looks Naresh Shenoy has no role in temple administration as he is not holding any position in the shrine, it is surprising Naresh standing surety for Nandakumar. A source said, on the orders Samayameandra Naresh backed Nandakumar. For all the endeavours of Samayameandra seer, Naresh's suggestions were asked.

Baliga's drilling into Temple's dubious affairs did not go down well with the seer and Naresh. Baliga was hell bent on exposing both to keep the temple away from these.

This document however is a testimony on Baliga chasing Naresh Shenoy. The reopening of the case had negative repercussions on Naresh and Samayameandra Seer. But was pontiff had a blessing of 'go ahead' on Naresh for alleged brutal killing will come out in the further course of investigation.
