Ayodhya's Deepotsav 2023 Breaks Records With 26.17 Lakh Diyas And Mass Aarti

This year's Deepotsav in Ayodhya witnessed two new world records. A total of 26.17 lakh diyas were lit at a single location, while 2,128 individuals performed 'aarti' together during the grand celebrations in the temple town, according to the Uttar Pradesh government.

Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed these achievements after counting the diyas with drones, as per a government statement. The first Guinness award was for the largest display of oil lamps, totalling 26,17,215. This record was a collaborative effort by the UP Department of Tourism, Ayodhya administration, and Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University.

The second recognition was awarded for the highest number of people performing 'aarti' simultaneously. This achievement was made possible through joint efforts by the tourism department, district administration, and Saryu Aarti Samiti in Ayodhya.

During the event, UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh and Principal Secretary Amrit Abhijat presented the Guinness certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The ceremony highlighted the significance of these records in showcasing Ayodhya's cultural heritage on a global platform.
