Atishi To Be Next Delhi CM? Here's What She Said

As Arvind Kejriwal announced his resignation as Delhi Chief Minister, reactions poured in from various political parties. The unexpected announcement has raised numerous questions, particularly about the next chief minister. Delhi Minister Atishi responded to the news, stating that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will continue working for the people of Delhi as long as it remains in power.

She remarked, "Who will be the next Chief Minister is not important. What is important is that no matter how long the Aam Aadmi Party government stays, it will work for the people of Delhi." She emphasized that Kejriwal has set a new standard of honesty in politics by urging people to vote for him based on their trust in his integrity. With less than six months left until the Delhi elections, she noted that it is now up to the people of Delhi to decide.

Speculations and Reactions

Atishi's comments came amid speculations that Sunita Kejriwal might succeed Arvind Kejriwal. Criticizing the BJP, she said, "Ever since Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi, BJP has left no stone unturned to stop his work. He became CM with 67 seats in May 2015 but faced restrictions and illegal notifications through NHA, which stripped away all powers. Successive LGs imposed further restrictions on Kejriwal. After an 8-year legal battle, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the elected government having power."

Atishi highlighted that despite numerous raids over the past two years, no evidence of corruption was found against Kejriwal. She stated, "For the last two years, numerous raids were conducted, but they could not provide a single proof of corruption. BJP is afraid of elections. BJP knows that the way false accusations were made on Kejriwal, the people of Delhi are angry."

BJP's Fear of Elections

According to Atishi, BJP does not want elections because they fear losing voter support due to their actions against Kejriwal. She asserted that if elections were held today, AAP would win all 70 seats in Delhi and BJP would not secure even one seat.

"BJP knows that if elections were held today, the people of Delhi would express their anger through their votes," she added. "All 70 seats will go to Aam Aadmi Party."

The political landscape in Delhi remains tense as parties prepare for upcoming elections and navigate through this period of uncertainty following Kejriwal's resignation.
