Election Results 2024: As BJP Poised to Retain Arunachal Pradesh, Did Exit Polls Get It Right?

In the early trends of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2024 results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 16 seats in the state.

According to Election Commission data, the BJP has already won 10 seats unopposed in Arunachal Pradesh and is leading in 16 seats, including Lumla, Kalaktang, Koloriang, Nacho, Likabali, Basar, Along (West), and Along (East).

The National People's Party (NPEP) is leading in four seats, the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) in two seats, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in two seats, Congress in one seat, and independent candidates are leading in two seats.

Polling for the 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh was held on April 19, simultaneously with the first phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Exit Polls 2024

Axis My India predicted 44-51 seats for the BJP, 1-4 seats for Congress, 2-6 seats for NPP, and 2-6 seats for Others in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections.

2019 elections

In the previous assembly elections held in April 2019, the BJP secured a majority with 41 seats, leading to Pema Khandu assuming office as Chief Minister on May 29, 2019. The ruling BJP had won 10 seats in the 60-member assembly unopposed. A total of 133 candidates contested the assembly seats, while 14 candidates vied for the two Lok Sabha seats.
