PM stopped a 70 year normal and created a new normal: Jaitley on demonetisation
The ban on old currency will reduce poverty and the entire country has welcomed it, Arun Jaitley said.
New Delhi, Nov 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stopped the normal of 70 years and created a new normal, Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley said while speaking on the issue of demonetisation. "This was a decision taken in national interest," Jaitley said while also added that it required a lot of courage.

"The decision was taken to fight black money and the entire nation is supporting it. It is a historic step and demonetisation will benefit the rural sector as investments will rise," he also said.
The ban on old currency will reduce poverty and the entire country has welcomed it, the Finance Minister further added.
He further mocked the opposition which is trying to suggest that the many in the BJP were aware of this decision. He said: "On one hand they say that even Jaitley was unaware of this decision and on the other they claim that many in the party knew of it as a result of which the move benefited a select few."
