A 19-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by an autorickshaw driver, and four others near Gurugram's Sohna road.
The woman, a native of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, had taken an auto from Sohna and was going to Gurugram. The auto driver stopped the auto at a secluded place near Sohna road where four of his friends were already present.
In another incident, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide after she was allegedly gang-raped by eight men in Haryana's Nuh district. An FIR has been lodged and an investigation is underway.
The incident has come at a time when the entire nation is still seething with anger over the numerous rape cases that are reported from Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir.
In a similar incident recently, a 19-year-old Dalit nursing student was allegedly gang-raped in Varkala. The victim, a second-year BSC nursing student, was raped by an autorickshaw driver and two of his friends near Ayanthi bridge in Varkala.
A case under IPC 376 (2) (g) (gangrape) was registered against the accused, who are absconding.
