Andhra Pradesh Elections: Key Leaders Submit Nomination Papers
In a significant development in Andhra Pradesh's political landscape, key figures from various political parties filed their nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Among the prominent names were TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh BJP chief D Purandeswari, and current YSRCP MP from Kadapa Y S Avinash Reddy. The election process is heating up as candidates gear up for the polls scheduled on May 13, with the counting of votes set for June 4.

Avinash Reddy, embroiled in the Y S Vivekananda Reddy murder case, is seeking re-election from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, YSRCP MP M Gurumoorthy and Rajampet MP P V Midhun Reddy are also aiming to retain their seats in Tirupati and Rajampet, respectively. The Tirupati seat is notably reserved for Scheduled Castes. K Raju, a former bureaucrat closely associated with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, filed his nomination for the Nellore Lok Sabha constituency representing the Congress party.
Assembly Election Fervor
For the Assembly elections, which will occur simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls, N Bhuvaneswari, wife of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, filed her husband's nomination in Kuppam to contest against YSRCP's candidate K R J Bharat. Following her nomination filing, Bhuvaneswari made a passionate appeal to the electorate of Kuppam to support TDP exclusively. Additionally, K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju from TDP has thrown his hat in the ring for the Undi Assembly constituency.
Election Dynamics
The political alliances in Andhra Pradesh see TDP, BJP, and Janasena forming part of the NDA. This collaboration sets the stage for a fiercely contested election. On Friday alone, 53 nominations were filed for Lok Sabha seats while a substantial 314 nominations were submitted for Assembly seats. This flurry of activity underscores the competitive nature of the upcoming elections.
The elections are poised to be a critical juncture for Andhra Pradesh, determining its political direction for the next term. With a total of 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats at stake, political parties and candidates are leaving no stone unturned in their campaign efforts.
