Ruckus outside Apollo Hospitals

According to reports, AIADMK supporters tried to break police barricades outside the hospital.

Chennai, Dec 5: As television channels reported the demise of J Jayalalithaa on Monday, scuffles broke out between her supporters and police personnel guarding Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, on Monday evening.

On Sunday, Amma, as she was popularly known among her supporters, suffered a cardiac arrest.

The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was undergoing treatment in the hospital since September 22.

"Scuffle between AIADMK workers and Police outside Apollo Hospital in Chennai," reported ANI.

According to reports, AIADMK supporters tried to break police barricades outside the hospital.

Crowd threw water bottles and stones at police men. In order to control the unruly crowd, police resorted to lathicharge.
