Jayalalithaa remains critical: Party says she is showing improvement
She had suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday following which her condition remained extremely critical. She has been in hospital for the past 72 days.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister continues to remain critical. Jayalalithaa who suffered a cardiac arrest is at the Apollo Hospital in a critical condition. Her party the AIADMK however says that she is showing signs of improvement.
Earlier reports had suggested that she had passed away. The Apollo hospital however continued to maintain that she is very critical and continues to be under life support. Several leaders have come out and told the media not to speculate until there is an official confirmation on the news.

Minutes after the television channels played out the news chaos and confusion broke out in front of the hospital. Several of her supporters even resorted to violence.Doctors at Apollo had maintained that Jayalalithaa had remained very critical despite receiving the best of treatment. Dr Richard Beale had also said that Jayalalithaa was very critical and best possible care was being offered to her.
The police had a tough time in controlling the huge crowds which have been outside the hospital since the news of their leader started doing the rounds. Security across Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring states has been stepped up. The state remains on very high alert.
