Amit Shah Slams Kejriwal’s AAP As ‘Avaidh Aamdaniwali Party’ Ahead Of Delhi Elections

On January 26, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal during a rally in Delhi. Addressing the crowd ahead of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, Shah accused Kejriwal of misleading voters with false promises. He referred to the AAP as the "Avaidh Aamdaniwali Party," alleging that Kejriwal's government had failed to live up to its claims, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Amit Shah Slams Kejriwal's AAP: Delhi's Civic Problems Under Kejriwal's Rule

Shah took aim at the AAP government for its inability to address Delhi's ongoing civic issues. He listed major problems such as dirty water, frequent flooding, neglected public spaces, deteriorating schools, and underfunded hospitals. Shah questioned Kejriwal's commitment to improving Delhi's infrastructure and services, asking the public whether the Chief Minister had done enough to ensure basic amenities like clean water and reliable services.

Hope for Change: BJP's Vision for Delhi

Shah expressed confidence that the people of Delhi would vote for change on February 5, the day of the state assembly elections. Drawing attention to the significance of Republic Day and India's 75th year of democracy, he argued that Delhi had suffered enough under the current government. He said that Delhi would be freed from the "disaster party" once the BJP takes charge, and referred to the achievements of the Constitution in enabling ordinary citizens, like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, to rise to the highest offices in the land, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Kejriwal Defends AAP's Welfare Model

In response to Shah's accusations, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defended AAP's policies, emphasizing their focus on welfare schemes. Kejriwal contrasted his party's approach with the BJP's, claiming that the BJP was more interested in favoring billionaires and waiving loans, while AAP's focus remained on providing essential services like free electricity, water, and healthcare to the poor, as per media reports. He also warned that if the BJP wins, it would dismantle these services, which he argued would hurt the common people.

The Battle for Delhi's Future

As the election day nears, the political rivalry between the BJP and AAP intensifies. Both parties continue to present starkly different visions for the future of Delhi, with Shah advocating for a change in governance, while Kejriwal promotes his welfare-driven agenda. The outcome of the elections will likely shape the city's political landscape for years to come.
