Allahabad High Court Dismisses Petition by Slain Gangster Ashraf's Wife Seeking Stay on Arrest in Murder Case

The Allahabad High Court has rejected Jainab Fatima's plea to avoid arrest in the Umesh Pal murder case.

In a significant development in the Umesh Pal murder case, the Allahabad High Court on Friday dismissed a petition filed by Jainab Fatima, wife of slain gangster Ashraf. The petitioner had sought a stay on her arrest in connection with the high-profile murder case that has gripped Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The brutal killing of Umesh Pal, a key witness in another murder case involving Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal, has left the city in shock. On February 24th, Umesh Pal and his two police security guards were shot dead outside his residence at Dhoomanganj. The crime was allegedly orchestrated by Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf - both notorious figures with criminal backgrounds. Following these shocking events, Jaya Pal, wife of deceased Umesh Pal lodged a complaint at Dhoomanganj police station against Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf along with their two sons and aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam among nine others.

Fatima's Involvement

Jainab Fatima is believed to have played an integral part in this gruesome crime as she is alleged to have aided the shooters escape from the city after carrying out their heinous act. She had approached Allahabad High Court seeking to quash the FIR registered against her name and requested for a stay on her arrest which was subsequently denied by Justice V K Birla and Justice Vinod Diwakar who stated no relief could be granted to her.

A Twist In The Tale

In an unexpected turn of events that further intensified this saga; gangster brothers Atiq Ahmad and Ashraf were shot dead during media interaction earlier this year in April while being escorted by police personnel to a medical college. The killers posed as journalists in order to carry out the assassination, adding another layer of complexity and intrigue to this ongoing investigation.

The current whereabouts of Jainab Fatima are unknown as she remains on the run since the murder. Her attempt at seeking legal protection has been thwarted by the judiciary which has upheld its commitment towards ensuring justice for Umesh Pal and his family.

In conclusion, with the dismissal of Fatima's petition, it is clear that no stone will be left unturned in bringing all those involved in this case to justice. This case serves as a reminder that crime does not pay and that law enforcement agencies remain committed to upholding justice and maintaining law and order in society. It also underscores the importance of witness protection programs, especially in high-profile cases involving powerful individuals with criminal backgrounds.
