Ajit Pawar Visits Venue to Ensure No Inconvenience for PM Modi's Upcoming Programme in Pune
Heavy rains in Pune have prompted Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to visit the SP College ground. This location is set to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event on Thursday, where he will inaugurate a Metro train and unveil development projects worth over Rs 22,600 crore. The rain left muddy pools at the venue, but Pawar assured that measures are being taken to prevent any inconvenience.

After arriving in Pune, PM Modi will head to the Civil Court Metro station. He plans to travel by Metro to Swargate and engage with students and beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. To tackle the issue of muddy water at the event site, a platform will be constructed above the ground for seating arrangements. Work on this will continue overnight to ensure everything is ready.
Weather Alerts and Preparations
The water resources department has issued a warning due to predictions of heavy rainfall from September 24 to September 29. This could lead to increased water release from dams on the Mutha and Pawana rivers. Residents are advised to stay vigilant during this period. The alert highlights the need for preparedness in light of potential flooding risks.
Pawar emphasised that efforts are underway to ensure smooth proceedings at the event venue despite weather challenges. "We will ensure that no one is inconvenienced," he stated, highlighting the commitment to maintaining order and safety for attendees. The preparations reflect a proactive approach to managing unforeseen weather impacts.
These developments come ahead of assembly elections, adding significance to PM Modi's visit and the projects being launched. The focus remains on ensuring that logistical challenges do not hinder the planned activities or affect public safety during this high-profile event.
