AIADMK to sue IPS officer Roopa over 'false allegations against Sasikala'

The AIADMK has threatened to file a defamation case against IPS officer D Roopa for alleging that Sasikala Natarajan gets special privileges in the Bengaluru Central Jail. The Bengaluru unit of the party has passed a resolution to this effect.

"We are waiting for Vinay Kumar's report in the case after which we will file a defamation suit against D Roopa. If she has the proof for her allegations, let her prove it in court. We are unnecessarily being defamed. The allegations are being made as local body elections are approaching in Tamil Nadu and I don't understand why this attempt is being made," said Pugazhendi, AIADMK State Secretary for Karnataka.

The AIADMK leader alleged that Roopa has made baseless allegations in an attempt to tarnish the image of Sasikala Natarajan as well as the party. The decision to sue Roopa comes after TTV Dinakaran alleged that Sasikala was being made the scapegoat in a fight for personal rivalry between two IPS officers.
