Happy hours are back in Bengaluru after SC clarifies on liquor ban order
Several pubs around the Bengaluru city which were earlier hit by the 500m from highway rule and had to stop serving liquor, were back in business.

The State Excise Department officials on Thursday issued circular to all the Deputy Commissioners asking them to consider renewal of licences for pubs and bars that fall in city limits.
The Supreme Court had clarified that ban on sale of liquor within 500m of highways is not applicable within municipal limits.
After the apex court gave the clarification, the party goers in town can again have a whale of time at their favourite places.
According to Om Prakash, manager of Social pub at Church Street who opened the pub on Sunday evening said that the number of customers may not match with that of pre-ban days. But looking at the enthusiasm among customers, we are hopeful of good times ahead.
Armed with this clarification, pubs like Hard Rock Cafe and House of Commons are among the other pubs in the vicinity were operational.
However, others such as Pecos, Le Rock and Guzzlers are yet to resume business. Most of the liquor outlets have not opened yet for want of license.
