AAP's big day: Kejriwal to face trust vote today

New Delhi, Jan 2: Delhi chief minister

will prove the majority of his government in the assembly on Thursday. It has been one week since the new Aam Aadmi Party government took charge in Delhi.

The President of India had directed Lt Governor Najeeb Jung to instruct the Kejriwal-government to prove majority within seven days of taking oath. After the vote of confidence in the assembly today, election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be held on Friday.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has 28 MLAs and Kejriwal will need the support of eight MLAs of Congress to prove his majority. The Congress reportedly declared that it will continue to extend outside support to the AAP government.
