AAP leader Gopal Rai may quit as Transport Minister

New Delhi, June 11: Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai may leave Transport Minister's post soon, says media report. On Friday, Rai met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and requested him to relieve him from the "transport department" portfolio post.

It is being believed that Gopal Rai is unhappy with Delhi government's premium bus scheme.

Recently, he was questioned in connection with allegations of corruption in the scheme. Kejriwal also asked him to appear before anti corruption bureau (ACB) in this regard.

When asked about the news report, Rai said that he is leaving the post due to health issue. He underwent a surgery recently. Doctor removed a bullet from his spine.

Media reports say that Satyendar Jain who is the Power Minister currently, may get additional charge of transport department.
