BJP Accuses AAP's Arvind Kejriwal of Lying About Voter Deletion Claims Ahead of Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener, of fabricating claims about voter deletion. They allege he used a woman to falsely portray widespread voter removal in Delhi. According to BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva, Kejriwal attempted to manipulate public perception by presenting this woman as evidence of mass voter list tampering.

During a recent event in Kidwai Nagar, Kejriwal introduced a woman named Chandra, asserting her name was removed from the voter list despite having a valid voter card. However, Chandra later stated in an interview that she remains a registered voter in the Trinagar constituency and has consistently participated in elections. This contradiction has led the BJP to question the authenticity of Kejriwal's claims.
Accusations and Political Tensions
The ongoing political tension between AAP and BJP has intensified as both parties accuse each other of manipulating voter lists ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February next year. AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, have alleged that BJP is conspiring to remove thousands of AAP supporters from electoral rolls across various constituencies in Delhi.
In response to these allegations, an AAP delegation led by Kejriwal approached Election Commission officials to file a formal complaint. Kejriwal also penned a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, urging intervention to halt what he describes as bulk voter deletions. These actions highlight the escalating conflict between the two parties over electoral integrity.
BJP's Counterclaims
Conversely, the BJP has accused AAP of facilitating illegal settlements in Delhi by helping Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants register as residents. This accusation adds another layer to the complex political battle between the two parties, each trying to gain an upper hand before the upcoming elections.
Sachdeva further suggested that if Kejriwal's narrative about Chandra's vote deletion is fabricated, then his recent claims of personal attacks might also be self-engineered. This statement reflects the deep mistrust and rivalry between BJP and AAP as they prepare for the electoral contest.
The allegations and counter-allegations between AAP and BJP underscore the charged political atmosphere in Delhi. Both parties are actively engaging with electoral authorities to address their concerns, indicating that voter list integrity will remain a contentious issue leading up to the elections.
