9 Andhra students die by suicide after failing in AP Inter Results 2023

Nine students in Andhra Pradesh allegedly committed suicide after failing to clear AP Inter Results 2023. Two students have also reportedly attempted suicide. The results of Class 11 and 12 were declared on Wednesday. As many as 10 lakh students appeared for the exam. The pass percentage of class 11 and class 12th was recorded at 61, and 72 per cent respectively.

According to reports, police and administration have requested students to not take such extreme steps.

Disheartened over failure in most of the papers, a 17-year-old boy killed himself by jumping in front of a running train near Tekkali in Srikakulam district. He was the student of AP Inter 1st year hailing from Dandu Gopalapuram village of the district.

A 16-year-old girl hanged herself at a residence at Trinadhapuram under Malkapuram police station limits of Visakhapatnam district. She was upset after failing in some subjects of AP Inter 1st year exam.

Another 17-year-old student hanged self at his residence in Anakapalli. He was depressed over securing low marks in the intermediate first year.

The shocking news comes amidst a spate of suicides in India's premiere colleges. Four students have died in suspected suicides this year at various Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus.
