Bus catches fire in Karnataka, 8 dead
Haveri (Karnataka), Nov 14: At least eight persons were charred to death when a Mumbai-bound luxury bus from Bangalore caught fire after hitting a road divider near Kunimelli bridge, about 14 km from here, in the wee hours of Thursday. Another 38 were injured.

The bus had left Bangalore on Wednesday night, Superintendent of Police Shashi Kumar said. The charred bodies are yet to be identified, he said.

The tragedy comes two weeks after 45 people had died when a Hyderabad-bound bus from Bangalore caught fire after hitting the median on the national highway in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh.
