Andhra Volvo bus catches fire on Hyd-B'lore national highway, 44 dead

According to sources, the AC bus, with 47 passengers on board, was going from Bangalore to Hyderabad. While some passengers managed to jump to safety after breaking the emergency window, most of them were killed. Most of the passengers in the bus were from Hyderabad.
A rescue operation has begun and senior police officials too rushed to the spot. Traffic on the highway has come to a standstill following the accident.
Police officials informed that a list of only 29 passengers was received from the private bus travels. Other passengers boarded the bus enroute.
It has been informed that the volvo bus, which belongs to Jabbar Travels, left Bangalore at 10:00 pm on Tuesday and was scheduled to reach Hyderabad the next day at 6:30 am. All passengers were asleep around 5:30 am when the bus hit the culvert.
Eyewitnesses said that the bus was reduced to ashes within few minutes. The victims were charred beyond recognition. The bus driver, his helper and three other passengers succeeded to escape the tragedy.
